The Brainwave Disruptor is an artifact that is part of a research block we have called “Telepresence, interspecies communication and internet of things” developed over 2012. Technically it is a device that generates binaural sound waves combined with light frequencies, which in theory induce our neurons to vibrate at certain frequencies. The device allows you to control these pulses in various ways, manually, with automatic sequences predefined and remotely through OSC protocol and internet. In principle this disruptor born as reflection on communication, human-computer interaction (and its possible interaction with other species through sensors), a challenge to the reproductive strategies of reality, a critique of mimetic realism and rational approach is used to emulate a different space, a quest to reach the depths of the brain through the machinic rhetoric or electronic.
the 0.0 version of The Brainwave Disruptor was made in 2012 in Hangar (Barcelona). Arduino, Pure Data, electronics, Plexiglass sphere, blue teddy hat, leds, headphones.
